Many birds have problems finding nesting places and shelter in our modern well trimmed and manicured gardens. As a result the birds stay away seeking more interesting surroundings elsewhere. No more birdsong and the insects feel like in paradise.

It is also a pity, that the children don’t get the chance to watch the birds in their natural surroundings.

Natural cavities in rotten tree trunks are becoming increasingly rare. Therefore artificial nesting boxes are becoming more and more important for birds, providing them with the protected dry shelter and a place for nesting and hibernation. The bird nesting house is not only suitable for the summer months and nesting but also provides a warm place for the birds in winter. Birds have an average body temperature of about 40 °C. To keep this temperature in the cold winter months they need to burn more fat than in summer causing them to lose weight and become weak. An unprotected cold winter night can quickly be fatal for a bird. This is where everyone can help!

Application:

Place or hang the Gardigo Bird Nesting House in spring or in summer in a sunny but protected spot in your garden or on your terrace. Sooner or later birds will visit, settle down and build their nest. Food can usually be found in the surrounding garden. Some birds will stay in the house through the winter. It is a great fun to watch the life of the birds and to help them. Especially for children this is a great experience.

Please note:

1. Hang the Gardigo Bird Nesting House in a sunny spot, sheltered against wind and rain.
2. The entrance of the house should ideally show south.
3. Leave the house hanging in winter. Birds might be nesting and hibernating in it.
4. Do not varnish or paint the Gardigo Bird Nesting House. The solvents or the paint might be harmful for the animals. The animals will also not like the smell and avoid using the house.
